The Friday 56 is a fun meme brought to you by the superb blog, Freda’s Voice. The rules are simple and are listed below.
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Add your (url) post at Freda’s Voice in the Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple.
Here is my pick for this week:
I am reading the Tainted Throne from the Empire of the Moghul series by Alex Rutherford (the pen name of Diana Preston and her husband Michael). This book is 4th in the series of 6 books. It is about Jahangir, the triumphant Moghul Emperor. The ruler of most of the Indian subcontinent is doomed as the glorious Moghul throne is worth any amount of bloodshed and betrayal. No amount of wealth and ruthlessness can protect him from his sons’ desire for power.
On Page 56, we see Mehrunnisa pacing, agitated as she got to know that, her father had refused Jahangir’s – the future Emperor of Moghuls – request of marriage with her and got her married to Sher Afghan, a mere Mughal courtier.
I will post my review soon. By the way, what are you reading this Friday?
